Critical Care New Zealand Job Fair - Sydney

ICU Health Professionals: a little to the right, it just feels right.
Discover the possibilities of a move to New Zealand.

Right now, right over the ditch, good things are happening in the health sector. In particular, New Zealand’s ICU departments are benefiting from considerable Government investment. The good news is - this means more beds and infrastructure… but it also means more opportunities for professionals like you to join us. So, whether you’ve been considering a refreshing change of scene (or pace), or this is something totally new that’s sparked your interest, we can make the first step easy – by bringing some of our team to you.

Meet us in Sydney!

We’re heading your way in May, and we’re looking forward to meeting you at one of two events happening at Rydges Camperdown, Sydney.

For Nurses and Allied Health Professionals, we’ll see you at the Critical Care New Zealand Jobs Fair, being held on 8th – 9th May 2024. Our team is looking forward to being there, to meet with you to discuss all the career and lifestyle options you can have with a move to live and work in New Zealand.

For Doctors (SMOs, RMOs), we invite you to join us for an evening event on Wednesday 8 May at 6pm, also to be held at Rydges Camperdown, Sydney. As you enjoy some canapés you’ll hear from our team about the impressive opportunities on offer with a move to New Zealand. We’re also very excited to have a special guest speaker – world champion athlete and Doctor, Dr Jana Pittman.

From Olympian to medical doctor: How Dr Jana Pittman made the ultimate career transition

Dedicated, determined and incredibly competitive, Jana is an inspiration who speaks from the heart about never giving up and following your dreams. Hear Jana share her story about making a huge career shift, and how that's shaped her life today. Be sure to register for the evening event to see Jana speak in person.

Also hear from Dr Kerry Benson-Cooper - Medical Director, Adult Medical, Auckland City Hospital, NZ

Kerry is an Intensivist at the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Te Toka Tumai Auckland, the tertiary centre for liver transplant and trauma in the northern region. The DCCM also cares for renal transplant, neurosurgical critical care patients and general adult ICU patients.

Kerry was the clinical director of DCCM for 18 months before being seconded to her new role. She has been involved with the Critical Care Advisory Board to Ministry of Health (now Te Whatu Ora) since it’s inception.

Why New Zealand?

We like to think that a move to move to join us in New Zealand could unlock the best of both worlds for you. From a career standpoint, working in the ICU in New Zealand will give you exposure to a greater variety of care. What you’ll experience here will give you more well-rounded exposure – making your overall clinical experience more meaningful and fulfilling.

From a lifestyle point of view, there truly is something for everyone here in New Zealand. Maybe you’re keen to indulge your sense of adventure, perhaps you’re simply keen on a change of pace. Whatever the case, the ease of living, great outdoors, and great quality of life in general are sure to appeal.
